TRUE TYPES POST #39: CHARLES

DISC: D/C profile, result: C/D/S, slot 55

SOJT type: S-t (D>A, undifferentiated attitude)

MBTI type most resonant: ISTP

What were  you  like  in high school?

I just kind of existed in high school. I had a few friends. There was nothing special about me

What is your  greatest  fear? What do you  do to address it?

I think I've overcome all my fears

Was  there a time in your life where you felt you hit  rock bottom? What was the  situation  behind  it?

I never really hit rock bottom, but I did become the legal guardian of my then 14 year old half-brother at the age of 21. It was kind of an interesting experience, because I had to be like a father to him, and didn't get to do a lot of the things 21 year old men typically do. Somehow, through it all, I found a wife, and I am married now, and we have kids

Where  would  you  put yourself  on the social spectrum, and why?

I would say an introvert that's more extroverted than some, but still an introvert

What are some things that really bother you?

People being inconsistent and glaring errors or mistakes

What,  would you say, are your biggest strengths?

I am highly reliable and consistent. You can count on me to follow through. I'm also accurate and efficient

What,  would you say,  are your  biggest  weaknesses?

Love and compassion don't come easily to me, and it's hard to open up with others

When  you  switch  your  attitude between  introverted  and  extroverted,  or vise versa,  what are  you  like?

When I'm more extroverted , I'm louder and more rebellious

What was the hardest  thing  you  ever had  to  do? Why was  it  so  hard?

I think I already mentioned this. It was me becoming the legal guardian of my 14 year old half-brother at the age of 21. And I already mentioned why it was hard, as well

What are you  like  when  you're  sad?

I don't know. I can't ever remember being sad

How masculine/feminine  do  you  feel  in relation  to others  of your  gender?

I'm average, or maybe slightly more masculine than average

Here's  4 focuses  you can have in  life: tasks, people,  objects and ideas.  Which one would  be  your  primary focus and why? Which one  would be your  secondary  focus  and why?

Primary is objects. I love cooking, and made a career of it. I am not the head chef at my own restaurant. Second, I would say tasks. Without a secondary task focus, I might have lacked the discipline to make my career come to pass

What do you  do to have fun?

I've got to learn how to have fun.

What was  the  nicest thing you ever  did  for  someone,  and why did  you  do  it?

It was becoming my half-brother's guardian. I did it reluctantly, but the rewards were great. My half-brother and I are now very close.

Thank you, Charles, for sharing with us

TRUE TYPES POST #26: RAMÓN V

DISC: C/S profile, result: C/S (D), slot 34* (this is the most typical version of C/S)

SOJT type: fully differentiated Si-t (D>A dominant serves as dominant)

MBTI type most resonant: ISTP* (this is the most typical version of ISTP)

What were  you  like  in high school?

In high school, I appeared in public performances from time to time. But they were my 15 seconds of fame. Other than those 15 seconds, I was a nobody. I was just another face in the crowd

What is your  greatest  fear? What do you  do to address it?

I used to have fears, but I dealt with them all. Now I'm pretty fearless

Was  there a time in your life where you felt you hit  rock bottom? What was the  situation  behind  it?

I think it was when I became famous. I like to hide in the background. When there was no background to hide in, it was terrifying. I've adjusted and got used to it, though

Where  would  you  put yourself  on the social spectrum, and why?

Oh, my...don't even go there. People say all kinds of lies all the time. The tabloids love to say I'm extroverted. But the reality is...I'm a total introvert. I'm very shy, I don't like crowds, and I'm a loner

What are some things that really bother you?

Crowds, for one. If I have to go to an awards ceremony, or something like that, I have to enter through a secret entrance, so I don't get mobbed. The thought of my fans mobbing me is terrifying. Then I'd say people being inconsistent or unpredictable, and people telling lies or spreading gossip. Those things will make me suspicious of them and their motives

What,  would you say, are your biggest strengths?

I'm very consistent and predictable. You can count on me. I'm also practical, logical and efficient. I'm one to follow the rules, and play by the book

What,  would you say,  are your  biggest  weaknesses?

I hate being emotional. I hide my feelings whenever possible. I definitely don't show them in public. People see me as cold and unemotional as a result.

When  you  switch  your  attitude between  introverted  and  extroverted,  or vise versa,  what are  you  like?

When I'm more extroverted, I'm more willing to try new things, rather than just be conventional, like I usually am. I also am more open to talking about my feelings with people, but even then, I probably won't.

What was the hardest  thing  you  ever had  to  do? Why was  it  so  hard?

It was learning how to act and sing by myself. I really shy away from the spotlight, and didn't feel comfortable in it at all at first, but I got used to it, after a time. It got to where I just imagine I'm acting or singing in a room, and I'm the only one in there. I just mentally block out the people

What are you  like  when  you're  sad?

You will not see me sad. I do that alone and in private, just like with the rest of my feelings

How masculine/feminine  do  you  feel  in relation  to others  of your  gender?

I feel a little more masculine than average, I'd say

Here's  4 focuses  you can have in  life: tasks, people,  objects and ideas.  Which one would  be  your  primary focus and why? Which one  would be your  secondary  focus  and why?

Primary is objects, because I use them all the time. Second is tasks, because it gives me something to do with the objects

What do you  do to have fun?

I actually like to get alone. That's the most fun and refreshing thing for me

What was  the  nicest thing you ever  did  for  someone,  and why did  you  do  it?

I send money to my parents and brother, because I want them to be able to have the same kind of things that I have. I want them to be able to live comfortably, like I do. I feel like giving them money is the best and most practical way

Thanks, Ramón, for sharing with us

TRUE TYPES POST #17: JULIO (MONTE )

DISC: C/S profile; result: C/S/D, slot 54

SOJT type: Ti-s (D<A auxiliary serves as dominant)

MBTI type most resonant: ISTP

What were  you  like  in high school?

In high school, I just kind of existed No one really knew me except my close friends. I got good grades and was in NHS

What is your  greatest  fear? What do you  do to address it?

I think my biggest fear is not producing good quality work. I don't think I've really done anything to address it

Was  there a time in your life where you felt you hit  rock bottom? What was the  situation  behind  it?

No. I've never really had a time like that. Maybe it's because I'm really shy, and grew up super sheltered

Where  would  you  put yourself  on the social spectrum, and why?

Introvert, for sure. I am a loner. I don't really know how to be socially

What are some things that really bother you?

Noise, chaos crowds, seeing errors and mistakes, illogical or impractical people

What,  would you say, are your biggest strengths?

I'm highly practical and logical, I'm flexible and adaptable, I think things through, I'm efficient and get things done

What,  would you say,  are your  biggest  weaknesses?

I really love others, and have a heart for them, but it's next to impossible to show them how I feel.

When  you  switch  your  attitude between  introverted  and  extroverted,  or vise versa,  what are  you  like?

I have never done this. I would not know

What was the hardest  thing  you  ever had  to  do? Why was  it  so  hard?

I have lived kind of a sheltered life growing up, so I haven't really had to do anything terribly hard. I can't answer this question

What are you  like  when  you're  sad?

I don't really know. As I said earlier, it's really hard for me to express my emotions

How masculine/feminine  do  you  feel  in relation  to others  of your  gender?

I think I'm average

Here's  4 focuses  you can have in  life: tasks, people,  objects and ideas.  Which one would  be  your  primary focus and why? Which one  would be your  secondary  focus  and why?

First, objects. My life revolves around them. Second, I would say tasks

What do you  do to have fun?

I am not a very fun person. I have to learn to take breaks for fun

What was  the  nicest thing you ever  did  for  someone,  and why did  you  do  it?

I really can't answer this question, because I'm a loner. I don't interact with people too often, and when I do, I'm not sure how I come across to them

Thanks, Monte, for sharing with us

TRUE TYPES POST #3: JAIME

DISC: D/C profile, result: C/D (S), slot 35

SOJT type: Si-t/Ti-n (D>A, more than one type)

MBTI type most resonant: ISTP. INTJ is also resonant, but not as greatly as ISTP

What were  you  like  in high school?

I existed. That's about it. I wasn't really involved that much in school, except for studying a skilled trade after school Monday-Friday. Otherwise, "I existed" sums it up well

What is your  greatest  fear? What do you  do to address it?

I don't really think I'm afraid of anything. I'm pretty brave

Was  there a time in your life where you felt you hit  rock bottom? What was the  situation  behind  it?

I feel like I was at the bottom when my life started, and life is just a constant going up. I am constantly becoming a better person with each passing day

Where  would  you  put yourself  on the social spectrum, and why?

I'm a complete introvert. I'm very quiet. If I ever get invited to parties, which happened a lot in high school, because of my best friend, Juan, I usually hang out on the fringes of the party, away from the big crowds. I like things quiet and orderly

What are some things that really bother you?

Just the opposite of what I just said. I like things quiet and orderly. So things like crowds, noise and chaos really bother me. I also offer up sound, practical advice a lot, and it bothers me when people don't take it

What,  would you say, are your biggest strengths?

I'm highly practical and logical. I am efficient, and get stuff done.

What,  would you say,  are your  biggest  weaknesses?

I feel like I'm very surfacey, and not too deep. It's almost like my emotions don't exist

When  you  switch  your  attitude between  introverted  and  extroverted,  or vise versa,  what are  you  like?

When I act more extroverted, I can be highly opinionated and stubborn. I almost come across as mean. Maybe that's another reason they called me, "tough cookie " in high school

What was the hardest  thing  you  ever had  to  do? Why was  it  so  hard?

The hardest thing I ever had to do is something I'm actually doing right now, raising my children as a single dad. It's hard, because I have a hard time giving emotionally to my children. As I said, I'm really shallow, but I often feel like my children should have a more emotionally expressive and deep parent. With me, I feel like they're missing out

What are you  like  when  you're  sad?

That's a good question. I don't think I've ever been sad, to be honest

How masculine/feminine  do  you  feel  in relation  to others  of your  gender?

I feel about average

Here's  4 focuses  you can have in  life: tasks, people,  objects and ideas.  Which one would  be  your  primary focus and why? Which one  would be your  secondary  focus  and why?

I'd say objects are my primary focus. I'm fixated on them, and then I use them to do tasks, which I would say is my second focus. I'm definitely not focused on people. Oh, boy, do we know that!

What do you  do to have fun?

To have fun, I keep myself busy. I get an adrenaline rush from being active, keeping busy, and working with my hands

What was  the  nicest thing you ever  did  for  someone,  and why did  you  do  it?

The nicest thing I ever did for someone was advise them. I advised them because they asked me to. I have given many people completely sound advice, and it usually comes from me knowing the person, and paying attention to them over a long period of time, and remembering the details about the person.

Thanks for your time, Jaime. We appreciate it.
