support an Indigenous photographer here, working hard to document the Great Sioux Nation’s protests in North Dakota.
Photo #2: Ula and Tim Tyler. This Eastern Shoshone couple have been married for 54 years and experienced reservation life before there was electricity or running water.
Photo #4: Ishkoten Dougi. Ishkoten is an artist from the Isleta Pueblo Indian Reservation in New Mexico. He is portrayed in his studio, surrounded by his artwork that represents some of the atrocities inflicted on Native Americans.

When Evereta Thinn, 30, entered college as the only Native American in her English 101 class, it was at that moment she realized that she needed to speak up and not be that stereotypical “shy” Indian who keeps to herself. She works as an administrator at the school district on the Navajo Nation and aspires to start a language and cultural immersion school for the Diné (Navajo) people.

*Photo #13: Crisosto Apache, from the Mescalero Apache tribe of New Mexico, is an activist for LGBT rights in the Native community. He explains that there is no word for “gay” in any Native American language, but is referred to as being “two spirited.”
Photo #14: Maka in his classroom. After traveling the world and teaching English in Japan, Maka Clifford, from Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, realized his calling was going back to the Reservation to teach his own people and inspire young kids to explore life off the reservation.
Folks: Back in June the Biden administration also made it possible to claim LOAN CANCELLATION for over a hundred predatory for-profit colleges. Thousands are illegible for total relief-- return of money paid, and credit score readjustment. Now that other student relief action is in the news a LOT of people are just learning about Borrowers Defense.
ohhhh my heart is so full right now. ive watched the art institute eat naive young artists alive for decades now. i hope they all burn down. i hope the upper management all die broke and ashamed, like so many hundreds of their graduates have.
This is, obviously, amazing, but CRUCIALLY, if your school is listed here, you have to apply for the cancellation. This is NOT automatic. This is a payout from a settlement based on a government suit against the conglomerate running these schools. I urge everyone who has outstanding student loans to go to this website and APPLY FOR A SETTLEMENT. YOU HAVE TO APPLY.

As Russia prepares to invade Ukraine (or maybe is already doing so), I wanted to share this message and request from Rabbi Avraham Wolf, Chief Rabbi of Odessa & Southern Ukraine. It’s from a few days ago and I’m not sure if there have been any updates but it just feels really important to signal boost this:
“The Jewish community in the Ukraine is in need of your assistance during these dire times. As the threat of war intensifies, Mishpacha Chabad Odessa is preparing to support the hundreds of Jews who are unable to evacuate the country including orphans, students, and Holocaust survivors. Preparations are also underway to absorb Jewish refugees from the surrounding regions of Kharkiv, Kiev, and Dnieper.
$300,000 in donations are urgently needed to purchase medical gear, protective equipment, and basic necessities such as clothes and sleeping bags. Money is also needed to help stock emergency shelters with several tons of cereal, buckwheat, sugar, rice, flour and other non-perishable staples. These donations will also help defray the costs of additional security personnel arriving from Israel to help protect the Jewish community.
Your generous donation will help ensure that the Jewish community of Odessa is prepared for all eventualities and is able to provide security, shelter, and food for everyone in need during this dangerous time. $130,000 has already been spent in food alone - but much more is still needed.”

I read this comic 3 or 4 years ago. the only thing i remember about it was it was a gay comic about hockey at an all boys school. But if i try looking up “gay hockey comic” i get some new thing. Also reverse image searching isnt helping. I cant find this anywhere but i know it exists because i have this old screenshot…
can anyone help me find this comic again?
