Well, I don’t know what it is in celery that I am allergiec to exactly, but I know that when I eat it I end up in hospital. So, I don’t eat it.

Most people allergic to milk don’t know what lactose is, they just know it makes them sick.

It’s a bit complicated because this scene plays on the fact that she’s a time traveler from long ago before they understood the ideas of modern science or the molecular world we can’t see. So her confusion over some invisible part of food called gluten is mainly due to that. I just realized that without that context she just seems like a dumbass lol
