Eduardo remembers the first time he saw you, following the drops of blood on the marble floors of the Presidential Palace to the office bathroom. He remembers you opening the door, the wide eyes, pale face, and bloodbath behind you. He remembers pushing his way into the room and focusing on the tending of the open wounds on your arms and legs, your delicate hands and bruised knees. He remembers thinking this must be something akin to love at first since blood typically makes him lightheaded and twists his stomach. But it wasn’t the blood that did that to him on that particular day.
