A take on the DELTARUNE AU, DELTASWAP!

Susie - You, the protagonist and school bully. You get weird dreams, and you’re destined to save the world.

Kris - Your classmate, and the creepy quiet kid. Also destined to save the world. You’ve heard too many rumors about them at this point.

Lancer - Little kid who quickly begins to look up to you. Probably because he hates his king.

Berdly - The kid you bullied the most. A huge nerd.

Ralsei - Seems too lonely. It’s kind of annoying, actually.

Noelle - Focuses too much on her schoolwork.

There is a very different story from the original game. Despite that, it tries to keep the same charm. See what happens when the Chapter 1 DEMO releases!

What have been some of the pros/cons for writing for a protagonist like Susie in contrast to (as of Chapter 2) silent protag like Kris?

So far, we’ve enjoyed writing Susie as the protagonist.

The best part of it is that she isn’t silent like Kris, giving us more fun dialogue to write.

In this take, Susie will also (usually) narrate things in her head.

Though, because of this, we have ran into some issues about what this means for the player’s influence.

But we’ve recently came up with a solid idea on how that works.

I hope I'm not coming across as rude, I'm just genuinely curious: how come you have King swap with Rouxls and Spamton swap with Queen rather than having King swap with Jevil? It makes the swaps feel a bit more consistent in my eyes and it feels like a lot of extra work to come up with brand-new dynamics for Rouxls and Spamton along with Queen and Seam when you could just revamp the already preexisting dynamics of King and Queen and Jevil and Spamton.

King and Jevil makes a lot of sense. It could’ve even been used if the project started a lot later.

We were already used to the idea of Rouxls Kaard and King swapping roles, due to the fact that we started the project in 2019 (before Chapter 2 released). Way too early, I know LOL

We’re not planning on changing the role swaps anytime soon, but this one in particular does sounds interesting to handle
