Rapori, the Dark Sun, Toa of light, my submission for u/arriba_arriba_arriba's moc contest!
Since I'm a Christmas baby (Lucky me, I know), what we have here is a light Toa with twin longswords and the mask of strength. Why's he mostly black when he should probably be white instead? Because piece limitation is a cruel, cruel mistress, that's why. Rapori's name comes from the Maori translation of, you guessed it, "Dark Sun" (at least, on google translate).
Here's a back view of Rapori. The Zamor launcher does nothing, it's purely aesthetic, but it does help with weapon storage. The swords plug into the little holes on the sides. The golden skull spider mask is connected via a classic hand piece that clicks onto the back.
Chillin' out, maxin', relaxin' all cool and such.
I couldn't NOT do the Darth Maul pose, okay? It's, like, a contractual obligation.
Maskless and back-turned, like a badass. Plus, it gives me a good excuse to show off the weapon storage.
Same Kanohi! ...Kinda.
Looks pretty good with the Pakari Nuva too!
This is also a good time to say that I lucked out BIG TIME with the mask choice. I grew up with G2, hence why this moc is modeled more like a 2015 Toa, and I own very few G1 Kanohi, but fortunately Onua's classic black Great Pakari and Pakari Nuva are two of them.
A little sparring with the OG. (I modified my GWP Tahu to have ankles and lemme tell ya, they do him WONDERS.)
A clash with the forces of Makuta. (This guy's also a moc of mine. I may post pics of him later down the pipeline. If you couldn't tell, he's based on Makuta's old guard dog, Spinax.)
