Hi, everyone!

I just watched the first two episodes of the Clone High reboot, and wow...hearing the Drowning Pools revamped theme song took me straight back to watching the show in college.

How has it been 20 years?! God, I'm so old haha

The voice acting is still top-notch (I'm not sold on the new Cleo yet, but Will Forte continues to nail the sweetness of Abe Lincoln in the original). I am also so happy they included Christa Miller by having her voice Candide Sampson, and the newest clones are working well for me so far.

By the way, Bo Burnham would be a PERFECT Abe...well, his younger self would have been as cute and awkward as Lincoln haha

Ayo Edebiri is fantastic as Harriet Tubman as well. Fun fact: She's good friends with Jerrod Carmichael and had her picture taken with Bo and Lorene last summer at the premiere of The Bear.

All in all, I'm loving time traveling back to 2003 through Lord and Miller! 🙌🏼

Hi, everyone!

To finish out the month of May, I've just posted 20 of the best scholarly articles I've found about Bo Burnham and his works.

If you're planning to analyze Inside or Eighth Grade, consider this your works cited page! 🙌🏼

As a reminder, my newly revamped website will be live in TWO days, and I'll have a new interview up at that time with Bo scholar Quentin Stuckey or Stucks.

Here's his YouTube channel, and here is his excellent presentation on Inside that he gave at a conference in lieu of his thesis defense. You'll be able to read all about that thesis and Quentin's journal articles when #InsideTurnsTwo on Tuesday!

Keep it here for more comedy fun! ✌🏼

Hi, everyone!

To celebrate the long Memorial Day weekend, I've posted the first four chapters of my Cool Kids' Cooking Saga in which I compare each section to the corresponding ring of Hell in Dante's The Inferno. Fun stuff!

You can find the first one here.

As a reminder, I wrote these from 2007 to 2010 (and never finished...I'm the queen of procrastination lol). Since then, I've become much more liberal, am now a feminist, came out as bisexual, and I don't get the same joy tearing apart idiots that I did in my youth (therapy helped me realize my narcissistic conservative mother was causing me to hate women).

There is also language that might not be entirely PC in this day and age. Again, I was 24-26 and living away from my very strict Catholic parents for the first time since college...I had a LOT of growing up to do!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy my first attempts at comedic writing, and I'll soon be writing about the remaining 5 chapters (hey, 13 years later isn't that bad, right?).

Don't forget that my website will also be fully revamped on 5/30 when #InsideTurnsTwo. There will be new articles up and a brand-new interview with Quentin Stuckey who wrote his Master's thesis about Bo and his special.

Keep it here for more comedy fun! ✌🏼

Hi, everyone! Welcome to my new account! 🎤

While researching Bo and Phoebe’s friendship for my ongoing timeline, I had also compiled a list of interesting facts the two artists have in common.

Here’s the 10 best facts I could find about the pair. Enjoy!

Here are three fun ones from the list:

1. Phoebe’s mother did stand-up comedy! 🤯

Per Phoebe's New Yorker profile, her mom Jamie started doing shows after divorcing from Phoebe's dad Tony.

I'm sure Bo could help her out—he began doing stand-up when he was just a teenager!

2. Both have worn skeleton suits while performing 💀

3. They adore small dogs!

Phoebe's beloved pug Max passed away in 2019, and Bo's Bruce is living with Lorene after their breakup.

Don't be too surprised if Phoebo adopt a new puppy of their own soon!

Keep it here for more fun! ✌🏼

Current Bo project. Finally getting to finishing up my shadow box version. It took some brainstorming to figure out his hands but I found a pattern to use. I'm so grateful for the crochet geniuses out there (in this case it's Allison Hoffman aka Crafty is Cool) who have the capacity to design amazing patterns that allow me to bring my ideas to life! There's some polymer clay fun to be had this weekend and some painting to be done, plus finishing details of his hair and such. Hopefully I'll be able to show him off next week!

Anonymous asked:

I'm impressed you got a story-pic of Samm and Mary. like, what witchcraft do you have.

Haha…no witchcraft here. I just know people who follow them on Instagram, and those fans send me any updates.

I don’t personally do Insta or Twitter anymore. I do sometimes get extreme FOMO when big events happen, like Bo and Phoebe kissing, but it’s SO much better for my mental health to be off of those social media platforms.

Thanks for the compliment though! ✌️🧙‍♀️

There's an EXCELLENT new YouTube compilation of Bo TikToks here—check it out!

I'm an old lady who doesn't do social media anymore except for here and Reddit, so I always appreciate these sorts of videos. Especially when they feature my number one comedian (with a cameo from my third favorite comic lol)

I also had included some fantastic TikToks for my best Bo videos post from last May.

If you have any favorites, Bo-related or otherwise, please post them! ✌🏼

Before Bo, there was Adam

Clearly what I need is a cure for obsessing over ridiculously tall men with luscious hair and cute beards.

Also sorry for posting something non-Bo, this just popped up on my feed and I thought it was funny. 😅 Now back to our regularly scheduled programming!

Adam Driver is definitely good-looking...no shaming from me!

Did you see Annette? He plays a depressed comedian whose act is suspiciously Burnhamesque haha

Hi, everyone!

I just wanted to remind y'all that this account will be RETIRED/INACTIVE by this time next week (5/30/23).

If you would like to continue to get the latest news and analysis of Bo Burnham, please make sure to follow @standupcomedyhistorian (NO hyphen like this account has). You can tell you're on the right account if you see my new logo courtesy of @lomleyo 🙌🏼

In addition to continuing to explore Bo's works, I plan to write deep dives about other comics, and I'm going to provide a history of Kate Berlant's one-woman show (including SO many of the tiny Kate pictures that had plastered the walls of the Connelly...even the bathrooms!) with my own take after seeing it 3 separate times and exclusive audience interviews.

I will also be taking a look at forgotten gems of comedy such as books like Wigfield and cartoons like Sit Down, Shut Up.

Finally, I'm planning to post and finish my decade-old series about Sandra Lee's terrible children's cookbook, Cool Kids' Cooking, in which I compare each chapter to a ring of Hell in Dante's Inferno haha

It should be a LOT of fun (and certainly nostalgic for millennials like myself), so please follow my new account—exactly the same as this one, but with NO hyphen—by next week.

Thanks so much, and keep it here (and eventually there) for more comedy! ✌🏼

Ok watching Inside by Bo Burnham feels like it needs to be a yearly rewatch. It's kinda like looking at the screenshots of the way someone hurt you, and as we get farther in to the future, and people forget the shit we went through, we need to remind ourselves. It benefits that which ruins the world to forget. Take in anything that helps you remember.

My Bo crochet doll handcrafted by @badmojo619 arrived today! 👀😍

He's That Funny Feeling Bo (my favorite song by him) and came with a custom-made black chair—I had purchased the doll-sized guitar on Etsy

He's a GIANT compared to my other figures and Funko Pops just like Bo IRL! Haha

Here he is with my TFF t-shirt ("A book on getting better hand-delivered by a drone")

And here's a comparison shot with real Bo in Inside

I absolutely ADORE him (he's so soft), and if you'd like your own, just reach out—the creator of these adorable dolls is currently taking orders! 🙌🏼

Also, if you want to know more, I had previously interviewed Aimee as part of Bo Fanart February. You can check it out here.

Thanks again, Aimee...you're an incredible artist and I'll cherish this doll forever! ✌🏼
