my dream as a fanfic writer is to write a story which people want to talk to me about and send asks about afterwards and discuss things the characters did and the symbolism and meanings behind certain lines and I'll be all "hehe thanks" but irl I'll be in literal tears because I wrote something that means something to someone

Please give me feedback! :)

I got an AO3 comment once which summarised said, 'I've been reading this fic for years and I keep coming back to it over and over because it's so amazing and I feel guilty that all this time I never commented, so this is me letting you know how much it's meant to me for so long.' And that was incredible, because five minutes before I didn't know that person existed and then they tell me that I've made such an impact on them.

It is never too late to leave a comment - the author will always be thrilled.

Cale has so much trauma that the only way his allies can truly help him is if they ignore him when he tries to stop them.

A hardened war-veteran who has self-sacrificing issues and a deep desire to protect everyone he can regardless of consequences? No problem, just ignore everything stupid he says.

Cale:wait no I need to go fight

Allies: shhhh no you don’t, take a nap, we will handle it

Cale:but-

Allies: no buts. It’ll all be okay

Cale:*ptsd intensifies*

Literally when the sealed gods temple started to create the equivalent of a nuclear bomb, Cale was like “wow, good thing I stabbed myself earlier and I feel GREAT so I’m going to try to block this with my shield that gives me major backlash” and everyone else just had to be like “GUYS HES DOING IT AGAIN QUICK PULL OUT THE SHIELDS”

And then Cale was like “why is everyone doing this? I’ll be fine?” And they’re all like “GET ALL SHARP OBJECTS AWAY FROM HIM- FUCK WHY IS HE DOING THIS-? HE JUST STABBED HIMSELF HAS HE NOT DONE ENOUGH???”

And Cale is like “guys, I promise I can help” and he’s like a baby who’s just silverware privileges revoked because a fork and an outlet got involved so everyone is like “anyone hear anything? Nope didn’t think so. Cale go sit in the corner”

And honestly they’re not wrong for it-

Later edit;

Cale:I am such a bad person. I use everyone around me for my own benefit, so I don’t know why you guys are still here

Allies:yes, yes, of course Cale-nim. Now let’s get you to bed before your sense of self-responsibility shows up

"The soldiers shouted and the citizens cheered. They all looked toward Cale and admired his unshakable dignified look on his face. The truth was that Cale was so anxious that he had frozen in spot."

–Trash of The Count's Family, Chapter 624

😂

I didn't realise this was tcf canon oh my god what even is TCF!?🤣🤣🤣🤣

It seems a lot of people are interesting in trying out the hibiscus tea with pomegranate so here's the actual recipe from Assassin's Creed Culinary Codex, courtesy of my below average photography skills.

The actual recipe so you don't have to squint:

  • 20 dried hibiscus flowers
  • 2 tablespoon (10 g) chopped ginger
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • seeds of 1 pomegranate.
  1. Bring 4.25 cups (1 liter) of water to a gentle simmer. Add the dried hibiscus flowers and chopped ginger. Simmer for at least 15 minutes, then add the honey and mix well.
  2. Remove the mixture form the heat and let cool. When the beverage has reached room temperature, pour the pan's contents into a pitcher (jug) and refrigerate for at least 4 houts, letting the hibiscus flowers continue to steep at the colder temperature.
  3. When the potion is cool pour into four glasses. Garnish with a few pomegranate seeds and enjoy!

==============================

Teecup additions:

Based on Eagle of Alamut, add more honey if you wish it to taste the way Diya al-Dīn and Umar prepares it. Steep it longer if you wish to taste how the Al-Sayf family prepares it.

(If you have an actual teapot, you can just steep it there instead of a pan XD)
