“Why are you staring at me?”
“I’m not.”
“You are.” He said once more, head tilted to the side slightly as he stared back now despite the slight burn creeping up the back of his neck.
Smiling now you turned back to the work in front of you, not really paying attention to it at all, mind stuck on the boy next to you.
“Hey, do you know the answer to question six-”
“Don’t change the subject.” He said and closed the notebook you were looking at.
“We’re supposed to be doing our homework for tomorrows class.” You sighed despite an amused smile tugging at the corner of your lips once more.
“Yeah, well I was doing it.” He started pointing at the words written on his paper, “That is until you were being weird and staring at me.”
“I wasn’t staring at you.” You said, shrugging a bit as you leaned back into your chair. “But if I was, is that really that bad? Maybe I like looking at you.”
“You were!” He huffed nearly talking over the last part of what you said. “Wait what did you say?”
“That I wasn’t staring at you.”
“Oh come on.” He groaned at your answer, the way he was hung up on it was cute. ”If you tell me we can go back to studying.”
You finally gave in when his lip jutted out into a small pout.
“I just think you’re cute, the way you were so focused was adorable.”
The blush that erupted across his cheeks as he stared at you now, eyes wide and mouth slightly open. If you knew you’d get this reaction you might’ve said it sooner, thought messing with him was just as good.
“Stop it, I am not cute.”
His eyes dropped to the desk. He couldn’t even look at you, afraid that is he did his heart would beat out of his chest.
“Mm, but you are.” You mused before opening your notebook once more. “So, you got the answer to number six?”
