the long way home (2025)
me watching all these smart dragon age fans write scathing dissertations on why veilguard is the worst piece of fiction in the series
Maybe im just crazy but Dorian making a comment about Solas making flowers bloom with his song sarcastically, the comment Varric makes about Solas being sentimental and how he could burn the world but a single flower with blackened petals could make him cry, and Lavellan learning how to sing the same as other ancient elvhen has to be connected.
Lavellan HAS to be the flower given Varric nicknaming all elven girls as flowers (Merrill is daisy and Sera is buttercup).
So Lavellan starts off in the beginning as the blackened petals, every garden needs a gardener but Solas is gone so no one is there to tend his heart. She wilts without him but Solas would be devastated to see her upset.
After Elgar'nan is defeated, Lavellan appears to stop him. Mythal doesn't complete the song with Solas, she does. She learned for him. Lavellan is making a duet, she's harmonizing and when Solas decides to tie himself to the Veil. She approaches him closer.
And she is all smiles, still completing his song asking to join him. He watches as the flower blooms to his responses, how she wants to stay and be selfish with him. This time without duty and knowing his greatest fear, he allows it, he smirks even with blight still on his lips.
And we know once they enter, the blight dies and in Lavendel when despair is given flowers it BLOOMS all over town. Even on a statue that looks suspiciously like the redemption.
Me: Maybe I've been too harsh to John Epler.
