Cutting tool is a wedge shaped and sharp edged device that is used to cut off excess layer of material from the workpiece through shearing during cutting to get the desired shape, size and accuracy. It is fixed to the machine tool. Different arrangements, including mechanical ones, give a different velocity to the cutting action.
