The work placement assignment was quickly approaching and everyone was eager to see if they had been approved for their choices, normally you decide where you want to go But today all anyone could think about was the interview assignment, where you got to interview someone you found inspirational.
“Who are you going to write your paper on, Joey?” You asked as you both walked towards the school gates. “Who else? Gramps!” “What are you guys talking about?” Asked Yugi, looking at his friends as he made his way to you. “We have to interview someone that we find inspirational.” You replied, shrugging your shoulders. “Who are you going to interview y/n” Tristan suddenly jumped in. Joey threw his arm around your shoulders, bringing you in close. “I’m always free.” “For being the biggest idiot? I wouldn’t call that inspirational.” Tristan joked. “I haven’t thought about it yet.” You avoided eye contact with the group, feeling guilty about your choice. As everyone continued leaving school, Yugi asked if you were coming with them to his house, but you made up an excuse and jumped on the city bus. Knowing exactly who you wanted to interview but didn’t want to tell anyone unless it happened and honestly; you didn’t want to listen to Joey going on about it. Which he would. You made your way to the top floor of the building, and reached the receptionist, sucking in a deep breath.

You couldn’t believe that Seto agreed to see you. Entering his office, you found him sitting behind his desk with a lot of paperwork. He didn't look up from his work as he sarcastically asked "So, what does a member of the dweeb squad want?" You decided to ignore his comment but couldn't hide the annoyance on your face. Standing up straight "I was hoping to interview you for this school paper" That made him make eye contact, his blue eyes boring into yours sent a shiver down your spine, as he made you nervous. "We have to interview someone inspirational." You quickly replied. Suddenly Seto let out a loud laugh, this took you by surprise, you just hoped it wasn't a "you're stupid" type of laugh. He stood up and stood in front of you "Who knew any of you nerds had good taste?" He was taking you in for the first time since Duelist Kingdom. You could feel your cheeks burning "Good enough to taste you."
Oh… My….. God! Stupid, stupid, stupid! Kill me now...
Failing to sound confident "I-I meant, you were the obvious choice." You were hoping that stroking his ego would distract him. To your surprise, he seemed amused as his smirk grew. "Unlike your loser friends, I don't have time to waste." You walked to his desk, lightly tracing your fingers over the wood trying not to think about how close you were. "What about if I win a duel, you do the interview?" When he didn't reply you went for it, l ightly batting your eyes "Unless you don't think you can handle me?" He stared at you for a moment, the amusement showing on his face "Tell you what, you win against Roland and I'll do your little interview." "Wait, so I don't even get to duel you but you're flunkey?" You noticed the man who must have been Roland and muttered "Sorry." Folding his arms as he leaned a little closer "You couldn't handle me." "You'd be surprised what I can handle, Seto." Feeling the conference you take a small breather as you make eye contact. "One more thing." "Hmm?" "When I win, you can't talk badly about my friends during the interview." He chuckled, you were certainly interesting. "Just for the interview?"
"Well, I figured you would agree to that."
" Deal." The duel took place on the roof of KaibaCorp, if you were being honest, you were wanting to show off, you were a good duelist but with Yugi and Joey, no one really took notice. Using (your favourite deck) you dominated the duel, surprising Roland and Seto, winning in a few short turns. "Impressive, for a member of the nerd herd that is. I'll see you Saturday, at 10 Am. Don't be late." You blushed while holding his gaze. "Sounds good."
