Nine months have passed since the particle accelerator explosion, Harrison (Eobard) had moved your childhood friend Barry Allen to Star Labs and on this day he awakes from his coma. The Meta-Human Clyde Mardon is also back, and with Barry leaning into his powers Harrison pushes back, which causes you and Harrison to argue. What will your future hold?

The months went by, 9 in total, and Harrison healed as much as we expected, I couldn’t help but blame myself for his injuries. On top of that, one of my best friends was seriously hurt the night of the explosion, Harrison brought Barry to Star Labs. So many lives were forever changed. With the city’s hatred for him growing every day, we’ve continued to stay private for now.

You and Harrison were cuddled up in the spare room, sitting on his lap, you could feel the cold wheelchair frame digging into your side.

“Stop thinking and come here kitten.” Harrison’s voice brought you back, you didn’t mean to space out.

“Sorry…” Since the explosion, you were filled with guilt.

His hand glided through your hair “Stop apologising” His soft voice was filled with something but you couldn’t tell what “We actually have time alone and I, for one would greatly prefer spending it with you.” Bringing his other thumb to your lips, lightly tracing over them before going back to your waist.

You smiled, leaning in closer, feeling his warm lips against yours. “Mmm, what do you have in mind?”

He smiled, running his fingers up your chest, stopping, lightly wrapping his fingers around your neck bringing you in for another kiss.

“Mmm,” Your fingers played with the back of his hair, tugging it slightly which earned you a muffled moan. Rubbing up against him, you earned another moan.

“You’ll be the death of me.”

“Dr Wells, get down into the cortex, like right now!” Cisco’s voice came through the coms.

You both groaned.

“Timing.” He commented.

Whispering into his ear “Just another minute?” you playfully nibbled it causing his grip to tighten.

“I’ll make it up to you tonight Kitten.”

Making your way down there, arriving at the Cortex you stopped dead in your tracks, “Come on, Kitten.” he whispered, watching you closely, your smile went from ear to ear.

“For nine months. Welcome back, Mr Allen, we have a lot to discuss.” Harrison’s calm voice broke Caitlin, Cisco and Barry’s conversation. Barry turned star-struck completely upon seeing Harrison, it took a moment for his eyes to land on you.

“Barry?!” You squealed

Cisco covered his ears he murmured “Really?”

“Y/n?!” He was just as surprised as you.

Before you could think, you ran to him, embracing each other “I-I can’t fucking believe this! Oh, my god Bar!”

Barry’s laugh filled the room “Well, I’m glad you haven’t changed” he pulled you in closer.

“Please, follow me, Mr Allen.” Harrison’s tone changed, he seemed annoyed.

“You must be OVER the moon, y/n” Cisco beamed, standing beside you.

‘That’s one way to put it.” You returned his smile before following them.

You and Barry stood closely, talking about what he had missed during the months he spent in a coma, from the corner of your eye, you notice Harrison watching you closely.

“So, are you dating anyone?”

“Ha!” Cisco laughed out from the other room, catching an annoyed glare from you.

“Sadly that still hasn’t changed” You shrugged.

“Oh, well there is plenty of time”

Harrison motioned for Barry to continue following him throughout StarLabs, his eyes landing on the ruins, and taking in the dreadful sight.

“I was recovering myself… When I heard about you” Harrison’s eyes landed on you, Barry turning slightly to see where his gaze had fallen, continuing moving through into the Cortex “The hospital was undergoing unexplainable power outages every time you were going into cardiac arrest which was actually a misdiagnosis because you see, you weren’t flatlining, Barry. Your heartbeat was moving too fast for the EKG to register… Now, I’m not the most popular person in town these days but detective West and his daughter gave me permission to bring you here where we were able to stabilize you.”

“They’re going to be over the moon Barry!” You chimed in.

“Iris?” Barry asked, looking between you and Harrison.

“Iris, yes. She came to see you quite often.”

“She talks a lot” Caitlin laughed.

“Also, she’s hot.” Cisco popped another red liquorice vine into his mouth.

“I need to go” Barry suddenly jumped forward, worry in his voice.

“No, you can’t” Caitlin stated in shock.

“No, no, Caitlin’s right. Now that you’re awake, we need to do more tests. You’re still going through changes, there’s so much we don’t know.” Harrison had his hand raised, wanting to stop Barry from running off.

“I’m fine, really. I feel normal, thank you for saving my life. “ Barry quickly ran out of the cortex, leaving everyone stunned.

“Really?” Caitlin was annoyed, she hated when her advice was ignored.

Harrison huffed giving up.

Barry popped his head back behind the door frame “Can I keep the sweatshirt?”

“Yeah, keep the sweatshirt.” Harrison looked at you, shaking his head slightly.

You shrugged “When he’s made up his mind there’s no changing it.”

It was later in the afternoon when your phone rang, filling the Cortex.

“Barry?” You noticed that Harrison’s attention was on you straightaway “Ok, hey, slow down… You what?! Umm…. Look, I have to ask, but man, have you been drinking?” Harrison was next to you before you could call for him “Hey, I have to ask… You should come back here.” Putting your phone down you look over at Harrison “You’re not going to believe this.”

The tests went as smoothly as they could but what surprised you was the fact that Barry confided in Harrison about his mother’s death, he never really spoke about it, especially to someone he’s only just met. Two more days had passed, and Cisco brought Mardon’s photo up on the computer before Barry arrived, he had called with the guy’s name asking for it to be shown to everyone.

“He’s not terrible looking,” Caitlin elbowed you to look with her.

“Mmm, definitely not the worst looking.” Both you and Caitlin let out a small giggle.

“But he looks…..” She struggled to find the word.

“Dumb?” Cisco chimed in.

“I wasn’t the only one affected by the particle accelerator explosion, was I?” Barry suddenly appeared with panic in his voice making everything stop, and everyone turned their attention to him.

“We don’t know for sure.” Harrison simply gave.

“You said the city was safe, that there was no residual danger. But that’s not true, what really happened that night?” Pain and worry were evident in his eyes.

“Well, the accelerator went active.” He pressed buttons on his wheelchair computer screen, drawing attention to the bigger screen behind Barry “We all felt like heroes, and then… it all went wrong. The dimensional barrier ruptured unleashing unknown energies into our world. Antimatter, dark energy, X-elements-”

Barry quickly cut him off “Those are all theoretical.”

“And how theoretical are you? We mapped the dispersion throughout and around the city though we have no way of knowing exactly what or who was exposed. We’ve been searching for other Meta-humans like yourself.”

“Meta-humans?”

“That’s what we’re calling them.” Caitlin quickly explained.

“I saw one today, He’s a bank Robber and he can control the weather.”

“This just keeps getting cooler.” Cisco mumbled without thinking.

“This is not cool, all right? A man died. Mardon must have gotten his powers the same way I did from the storm cloud. He’s still out there. We have to stop him before he hurts anyone else.” He turned to leave but you grabbed his arm, stopping him.

“Wait” You whisper.

“Barry, that’s a job for the police”

“I work for the police!”

“As a forensic assistant.” Harrison corrected him.

“You’re responsible for this, for him!”

You stood unsure if you should jump in before their emotions got the better of them both.

“What’s important is YOU. Not me, I lost everything. I lost my company. I lost my reputation. I lost my freedom. And then you broke your arm and it healed in three hours. Inside your body could be a map to a whole new world. Genetic therapies, vaccines, medicines, treasures buried deep within your cells AND we cannot RISK losing everything because YOU want to go out and play HERO. You’re not a hero. You’re just a young man who was struck by lightning. “ You couldn’t believe the ice in his voice, you knew he was getting over the conversion. You waited for the room to empty but when that didn’t happen, you motioned for him to follow you into his office, closing the door behind you, you tried not to show the emotions that you were feeling.

“So, you think he’s cute?” A hint of jealousy in his voice.

You sat beside him “Luckily for you I’m into brunettes.” that made him laugh “Harrison-”

He sighed, already knowing where this was going “Someone had to say it…”

You sighed “But did you have to be that harsh?” when he didn’t answer you continued “He doesn’t thrive under negative pressure, and while I agree-”

He cut you off “Clearly you missed the point I was trying to make.” the condescending tone evident in his voice.

That did it. That fucking did it.

You glared at him, suddenly standing not hiding it for a moment “First of all, I may not be a Scientist BUT I understand exactly what you were getting at, as hard as it must be for you to imagine, I have more than one brain cell to rub together. Shocker I know.” He picked up on your attitude straight away “I did not mean-”

This time you cut him off “It doesn’t matter if you meant it that way or not, that’s how it sounded” making your way over to the door “I don’t appreciate being spoken down to.”

He softened at that, he can be harsh at times but never meant to talk down to you, sighing, he came closer “Forgive me.”

Eyeing him you gave in “If you make it up to me later” a smile pulled at your lips.

“Oh, I plan to.”
