Understanding & managing FOD

When any damage to aircraft or people at an airport is caused by any object which is located in an unsuitable place, then this comes under FOD. FOD can cause severe damage to the aircraft as well as to the lives of the people. But foreign object debris in the manufacturing environment can also happen and cause serious risks to the FOD prevention programs. There are many ways to control the FOD in a manufacturing environment like clean as you go, thoughtful designing of the production floor, considering dedicated FOD management, proper planning and record making, and the importance of FOD awareness.
