Eris Vanserra is Rhysand if he didn’t have the Inner Circle.

Eris Vanserra is a dreamer with no stars. The Autumn Court is his Hewn City, it’s his Court of Nightmares.

Free my man 😭

I totally agree 😭

Everyone’s like Eris will be High Lord, Eris will be High Lord … 🥰🥵🤩

Tbh? I don’t think we’re remotely ready. Because I’m highly concerned and I apologise for the kind of simp I’ll turn into, the second he is in fact HIGH LORD. The power he already holds??! And I’m not talking power power but- just—HIM. His arrogance alone is so hot, I’m not even sorry anymore to admit all feminism leaves my body, when it comes to HIM.

A lot of the problems antis have with this series would be solved if they actually read Acofas.

“Mor is lying about Eris” Read Acofas.

“Feyre does nothing as HighLady” Read Acofas.

“Rhys’ problem with Feyre’s sisters don’t make sense to me” It’s explained in Acofas.

“Feyre deciding to have a child when she just said she didn’t want to have one in Acomaf doesn’t make sense” Read Acofas.

“Why doesn’t the IC treat Elain like they treat Nesta even though they both hurt Feyre” Read Acofas. I’m the last person to say Elain is a good sister however it’s easy to see why she’s treated differently than Nesta when Elain is actually trying.

Acotar has a good story purpose, but it could have been better if some facts had been resolved from the character himself, and not through situations that put pressure on other characters, like Nesta, Eris or Feyre so that they could, whether for better or worse

Hi, how are you? I've been following you for a while here on Tumblr, and I wanted to know if you have any thoughts about Eris Vanserra. I know a lot of people don't like him because of what the Inner Circle (and especially Morrigan) think of him. So I would like to know if you believe that he wears a mask to disguise the person he really is

Hi! I'm doing great :) I have mixed feelings on Eris, not because I like him in particular but because his character appears to be another example of Sarah retconning previously established plot points and characterization on a whim and he serves as a more notable example of this because many people on the hardcore pro Inner Circle side of the fandom dislike him.

Eris is introduced as Lucien's oldest brother and, therefore, one of two involved in Jesminda's death. ACOMAF expands on this and adds that he is also directly tied to Morrigan's abuse. Mor's character, in particular, is cast as someone for Feyre to emulate in ACOMAF--a happy, independent, and empowered survivor of abuse. Eris, in ACOMAF, is meant to be Morrigan's Tamlin. The abusive fiancée she fled from. And Morrigan is who Feyre could be now that she doesn't have Tamlin or her family holding her back, and she is what Feyre spends the book trying to become, in essence. So while Eris no longer being involved with Jesminda's death is a hard retcon to swallow, it's FASCINATING to me that Sarah also appears to be heading in the direction of retconning his status as an abuser of Morrigan. If Sarah does this, then Morrigan's whole character as presented in ACOMAF is undermined. If Morrigan is *lying* about her abuse (as he implies during his dance with Nesta in ACOSF)... then what was the point of her character? Her story of empowerment after escaping, not just an abusive family, but an abusive fiancée ***just like Feyre did*** completely ruins the connection they have and the point of her character's presence in ACOMAF; it ruins the fact that she's meant as an inspiration for Feyre. And it ruins the whole message of ACOMAF, honestly. The point of the book is female empowerment, is that you can escape and heal and grow after being abused. If Morrigan and Eris's past is retconned, then it's yet another example of Sarah shitting on her own message about domestic violence.

To answer your question: I do think that, with ACOSF's release, Sarah has decided to retcon Eris and that she decided he has ~complex motivations~ and a ~mask~. That seems to be the direction she's heading in. And while I'm not particularly fond of Eris, I'm fascinated by Sarah's possible direction with his character. If she does indeed retcon his past with Mor, I look forward to seeing the fandom reaction, because while Rhysand is very beloved to the point fandom could excuse and forgive his sexual assault, mind rape, torture, purposeful endangerment, secrecy, and reproductive abuse of Feyre, Eris is seemingly less well-liked and the hardcore Inner Circle stans are, imo, unlikely to forgive and excuse him the same way. I want to see what will happen when me and the moots are proven correct yet again about Sarah not planning anything and not caring about her themes when suddenly the abuse of an Inner Circle member by any character who's not Rhysand is retconned.

Biggest pet peeve: people saying that Feyre’s revenge on the Spring Court was ✨ slayyy ✨ she literally destabilized an entire court leading to countless deaths over her personal beef with Tamlin. The sad thing is, she will never take accountability for it either

Agree 100%. It was also cringey as hell lmao

They all have different personalities. They all made mistakes. They all have made bad things and good things.

They all have different prespectives, different ways to cope with trauma, different struggles, different pasts...they have different ways of everything because they are different people and that's what makes them relietable and amazing.
